The Final Entry! Compassion Over Killing

Well, I can't believe it- but we're here at the final contest entry thanks to my friend and fellow world changer, Josh Tetrick. It would be the understatement of the century to say that Josh loves animals. He went from a meat consuming football player to a vegan social entrepreneur once he started to learn more about the meat industry in the U.S.  He's nominated Compassion Over Killing- a advocacy organization based in D.C.

Here's a bit about the organization:
COK is a nonprofit animal advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C. Working to end animal abuse since 1995, COK focuses on cruelty to animals in agriculture and promotes vegetarian eating as a way to build a kinder world for all of us, both human and nonhuman.
They serve animals through advocacy campaigns, offering resources like books to read, vegan recipes, and events you can participate in. If your heart is tugged for our furry and feathered friends, then this is your group.

So what do you think folks? Should COK win the cash? Remember to comment here! One comment = one vote! Voting ends on December 1.

Cheers,

ACW

Yes COK should win the cash! One of the biggest reasons I donate to COK is because these people know how to stretch every dollar - everything is poured into campaigns to help animals - there are virtually no overhead costs. COK is efficient. That in itself sets them apart from so many other organizations. COK also sees results. From its corporate campaigns to public outreach to undercover investigations, COK's influence makes a difference.

I'm a huge fan of Compassion Over Killing. They make veg eating easier and do a great job exposing the routine abuses occurring on factory farms. They definitely deserve my vote!

Compassion Over Killing is my favorite animal rights group -- they are focused, determined, and get things done despite limited resources.

I appreciate how COK advocates for animals without resorting to silly publicity stunts. And I also love how they encourage restaurants to offer vegan options.

I nominate COK because...until this country can figure out a better food system (I'm not a vegetarian, but an eager consumer of information), we would all probably be better off consuming at least more vegetables and less meat.

COK helped open my eyes as well as a Chef to "options" in the non meat world.

Just today I made some amazing "chicken" sausages for a client at brunch, paired with roasted butternut squash and some greens tossed in olive oil. HOME RUN. Of course I made a sample for myself, and the mock "sausage" was amazing!! (not a pat on the back, but I'm just sayin??

Rock on COK, open eyes and be of good nature...your efforts are not wasted!!

Yes! Compassion Over Killing is a great organization; bringing awareness of the suffering of farmed animals and encouraging people to go veg.

My vote is for Compassion Over Killing! It's a powerful organization pulling back the curtain to expose the hidden horrors forced upon animals who are raised and killed for food.

I just learned about COK last year, and have to say, they are an amazing group. From reaching out to major corporations, to doing undercover investigations, they do a fantastic job letting people know about the issues involving where our food comes from.

COK is the best at getting the word out for animals, and always having helpful information. You are one of the few animal organizations I trust. Great Job!!! Keep up the good work; you ARE making a difference!

COK puts in the time and effort into things that we ALL should be doing. They are helping to protect animals that need it and to be a voice for them. I don't feel any organization deserves it more.

My vote is for COK! They work so hard to get the word out for animals!

COK is the reason I'm a vegan. I saw their commercial on MTV over 3 years ago, prompting me to check out their website and caused me to go veg on the spot. They are incredible and I can't say enough great things about them!
