Delight in Relationship

"But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere"~ James 3:17

As I've been walking through these past months, I've had the delight of experiencing this relationship with God-truly seeing how he is integrated into every part of our lives. It's easy to categorize, of course, but if I've learned anything this summer, it's that His presence in each "category" of our lives is what makes them beautiful, joyful, and profound. How blessed I have been to see Him in friends, two different areas of work, and new experiences!

My dad asked me if this was the best summer I've had in my life. I don't think I would say that, but I would say that this summer has profoundly impacted my perspective, my knowledge, my network, my understanding, and my passion for what I do. The people I've met, the movements I've joined, contributing to the fight to eradicate poverty, have all deposited a new blessing of wisdom that results in powerful growth. That is the Lord's hand in all of this. Seeing Him in a very real, awe-inspiring role in each area of my life. I think this is what they mean when they say to make the Lord your priority...or rather what they mean to say. Having this relationship with the Lord means seeing Him in each area of my life. And then worshipping Him.

I think for a long time, I viewed this Christian life as religion. But it's not. It's life, infused with grace, simplified through salvation, and ignited with passionate commitment to His glory. It's alive.
