"Strength and dignity are her clothing and she laughs at the time to come."~ Proverbs 31:25
The Lord has taught me a lot about laughing recently. As I reflect on the character of this wife of noble character, this portion never really stuck out until these past few weeks. The time to come, in this case, is something light enough, drama-free enough to laugh about! And you can laugh because you are secure in the fact that our God reigns. He is victorious thus our future is set.
A lot has changed even in these past few days that merit laughter. We form plans, but by His grace, I have been in a place allowing me to be open to His direction. So I am no longer going to grad school, contemplating certain other situations that are so clearly placed in my life by His hand. And all I can manage to do is laugh...chuckle at the days coming because I truly have no idea what they will bring. But I do know what He has. And in that, I rest...and laugh. This has so many...even endless implications: the way I approach each day, relationship, and career choice. I know He has this in His hands. With this, I cannot deny the responsibility to be excellent. So I try doors, but the key is not to fret if one closes. Not to be anxious, but to trust Him and in that take joy.
Its just amazing the freedom you feel with this perspective...just laughing knowing that the issue is so minute, so insignificant in light of His glory and grace. In fact, its Him who gives anything meaning...so maybe this is why we're called to have faith like a child. Children laugh...a lot.
So there you go. Laugh!
