“And in that day, declares the Lord, you will call me ‘My Husband,’ and no longer will you call me ‘My Baal.’ For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and they shall be remembered by name no more. And I will make for them a covenant on that day with the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the creeping things of the ground. And I will abolish the bow, the sword, and war from the land, and I will make you lie down in safety. And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the Lord."~ Hosea 2:16-20
Oh, how we are pursued by the mighty One. The Holy God of Jacob. I've been struck by how deeply He knows our hearts. The beauty of a woman discovering her beauty in Him...nothing is like it. You watch people come alive. They find purpose, and know that they are welcomed and loved by their Maker. When that happens, when they are found, when they know they are found, everything changes. Its amazing. When God lifts the veil of blindness that they see life through His eyes...a genuine authentic and rugged love is birthed. A realization of His purpose.
That which keeps us from this place is obviously sin. We're afraid to let go of who we think we are because of the comfort and "control" we have of that perspective. Oh, but the freedom that comes in letting go! The chance to breath without fear, doubt or worry that He will leave. Because He never will. Your identity won't change like shifting sand. The opinion of man will be blown away like chaff. You'll stand secure, in peace and grace...free.
Let Him pursue you, dear one. Let Him pursue you and be free.
Who is this King of glory who pursues me with His love?
He loves me beyond measure.
