A Poetic Response

It is not they who receive the parade
Empty eyes, broken songs, swift motion
They know nothing of what they do not see
Moment to moment faded
Chance to chance forgotten
It is not they who receive the parade

It is not they who receive the parade
After long nights of dry harmony
Numbing drink floods in and out
Falsified love offered
Imitated intimacy returned
It is not they who receive the parade

A life awakens, reminds, instills
Cherished beauty and feminine grace
Broken and strengthened
Simple and profound
These will receive the parade

Await the moment, dear friend
Anticipate the many to come
Ignited glory
Eternal rest
Ah yes, in Glory of humility
Receive the parade.
