Finding Keys by Losing Them

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you..."

Losing control is one of the most difficult things I've ever faced. Ask anyone who's ever been in a car with me (smile). I hate not knowing what's happening next or how things are going to play out. But recently...God's been teaching me a few keys about learning to trust Him.

You'd think we'd get it by now. God's been faithful in following through throughout the ages. So why do we get so worried when things happen? As if a misplacement of something that allows me to get from A to B is out of God's soveriegn plan. The funny thing...yesterday, I was actually able to feel peace that God would provide a way for me to get my car. At first, I freaked out...old self. But then, after taking a shower and getting going...I just kept praying.

You hear the phrase, "patience is a virtue." I'd like to re-structure that statement. "Trust in God is THE virtue." Patience stems from trust. Trust stems from faith. Faith is a gift from God. So the prayer becomes...

Jesus, you know my every thought.
You have made me assertive and blessed with the ability to lead.
Thank you for your blessings and mercy.
I pray that you continue to grow my faith in You.
I am fickle and faithless and you are forever stable and faithful.
Give me clearer vision and a stronger heart to trust You.
I long to show the world how incredible You are
Increase my faith that You would be glorified and furthered.
You are my King, Savior and Lord.
I live my life for you.

Amen
